Walking Through the Death Gate
Good dying is a part of good living — both are initiations into the depths of Spirit. Many of us are invited by Life to walk through the gates of psychological, emotional, and spiritual death while still in the same physical body. Inevitably, however, time comes to face our physical death as well.
Most of us are profoundly unprepared for this passage. And yet, the learning, growth, and deep clarity that can unfold in this stage of life can be immeasurable.
I am drawn to offer my presence and guidance to those who feel called to walk this threshold with full consciousness and curiosity — whether in the context of sacred plant spirit allies or in the absence of them.
What I ultimately know about this calling is not something I can fully articulate. But when I reflect on it, I realise this: through my own process of dying — letting go of things I once held as precious, including parts of my own identity — I have glimpsed the beauty of Spirit. This beauty, and the way it moves through breath, impermanence, and the final mystery, feels too important not to share with others who are willing to explore it with reverence and courage.
What This Work Asks of Us
Walking through the gates of death — psychological, emotional, or physical — demands of us:
• Presence over avoidance
• Curiosity over fear
• Softness in the face of aloneness
• Courage in surrender
These are not easy things. They are the practices of the human soul — and they are precisely what this work supports: not escaping death or fear, but walking toward them with awareness and dignity.
